Mission Administration and Support
Large international organisations have experienced their share of problems in attempting to plan, set-up and support civilian crisis management field operations and, particularly, to achieve a rapid deployment of administration and logistics support resources. Mission personnel that cannot be efficiently supported within a very short time of arrival in theatre will face difficulties in carrying out their mandate effectively. Moreover, a sustainable management of a field mission is key to improving the motivation and efficiency of all staff.
The overall objective of the Administration and Support Course is to provide its participants with in-depth knowledge of administrative and support procedures and structures of EU Civilian Crisis Management operations. The course contributes to the creation of a similar management culture among future mission members who have different professional, organisational and cultural backgrounds, and a sense of common identity and purpose.
Taking into account the different categories of staff involved in missions, the course will address not only technical and administrative experts but also middle and senior management staff.
