Welcome to the ZIF e-learning module on stress management.
This module provides tips for avoiding stress and helping you cope with stressful situations. When working in an international peace operation, high levels of stress are common. If exposure to sources of stress adds up or lasts too long, it can lead to physical and mental health problems. Therefore, it is important that you are aware of the causes and effects of stress, and that you know how to deal with them, identify your individual coping mechanisms, and protect your personal boundaries.
The content of this module is based on Stress Management for Civilian Experts in Peace Operations: A Practical Handbook, which was created by the Center for International Peace Operations (ZIF) as part of its Duty of Care initiative. This module is intended to raise awareness of the issue and to serve as a practical guide to accompany you on your mission.
