Hostile Environment Awareness Training

Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) is an intensive five-day course aimed at training professionals to deal effectively with high-risk and emergency situations while deployed in hostile environments abroad.

The training is expected to improve participants' understanding of the minimum behavioral field requirements when working as a team member of an international field operation regardless of their national or professional background.

The course is designed to:

  • Improve participants knowledge of various threats in hostile field environments and to learn how to deal with them in an effective manner;
  • Rehearse and practice safety and security procedures according to specific threats;
  • Develop individual skills to deal with different stressful situations;
  • Develop group dynamics to deal with multiple stressful situations.

Target group and minimum requisites: personnel already working or contracted/seconded to work in an international field operation. Participants are strongly advised to have a valid driving licence which must be brought to the training in order to drive 4x4 vehicles for training purposes.
